Day 3 of the “fruit and vegetable” cleanse and it’s still going well. The cold symptoms I felt yesterday dissipated in a couple hours, so I doubt they were really due to the cleanse. I’m feeling fantastic and energetic. I’m just consuming an INSANE amount of food. Biggest lesson I’ve learned so far: PLAN. I’ve been going to the grocery store WAY too often. I have a feeling like the checkout people at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s think I’m a total weirdo. I wish I had been smart about this and stocked my fridge up like Gretchen. Meanwhile, check out her food log over on VeggieGrettie.com. Here’s my food log for yesterday.
Breakfast: Smoothie with frozen banana, water, frozen pineapple, apple, carrots, and spinach.
Mid-Morning Snack: Box of cherry tomatoes, 1 grapefruit, cucumber seaweed salad
Lunch: Big Salad with mixed greens, mushrooms, red peppers, cauliflower, beets, and “health starts here” tomato basil dressing from Whole Foods.
Afternoon Snack: The usual “Green Lemonade”
Dinner: Kale salad with lemon juice and tamari, steamed butternut squash, 20 cherries, 1 banana.
I’m going to do a little better planning tomorrow and hopefully I’ll try some actual recipes over the weekend instead of just throwing stuff together.
