The fruit and vegetable cleanse is officially over and I feel fantastic for doing it. I think that in the future, I’ll be doing one or two day “fruit and vegetable” days whenever I feel sluggish or had a particularly unhealthy day of eating/drinking. Everyone should try this out for just a day or two – it’s really easy and you’ll be able to prove to yourself that you have willpower beyond what you think you have. Plus you’ll feel great – most people say that they feel lighter and healthier after just one day of doing it!
I have to confess though, I didn’t exactly finish day 7, but I have a great reason. Chef AJ asked me to attend the beginning of her “30 Day Challenge” which I’ll be covering all this month. I’ll have my first post up about it tomorrow, but for now, here’s my final food log.
Breakfast: Green smoothie with banana, frozen spinach, frozen berries, a splash of tart cherry juice, maca powder, and 2 dates.
After breakfast I did a workout at my normal gym, VERT Fitness, and hit or maintained personal bests in every exercise. I never thought I’d have so much energy and strength eating just fruits and veggies, but again I proved myself wrong.
Morning Snack: Banana and a pear
Lunch: Sunshine kale salad and roasted beets from Whole Foods
Here’s where the cleanse ended.
Dinner: Chef AJ’s delicious Sweet Potato Chili with Cornbread. If I get her permission, I’ll post the cornbread recipe one of these days – it contains barely any ingredients and is incredibly light and delicious.
