The reason I went plant-based was the multitude of convincing scientific evidence that has recently become available. But there’s so much more work to be done when it comes to studies and research. That’s why it’s so important that we have something like the Nutritional Research Project, a non-profit dedicated to “exploring the power of nutritional science.” Their mission statement reads: “To support, encourage, and promote clinical research to evaluate the impact of a high nutrient density diet and related nutritional interventions on chronic diseases such as autoimmune illnesses, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.”
I learned about this organization through Dr. Fuhrman, and he mentioned during the McDougall Advanced Study Weekend that they were looking for volunteers to sign up for a new study about vegans and DHA (an omega-3 fatty acid.) So if you’ve been vegan for 3 or more years and don’t supplement with DHA, sign up here!
If you don’t qualify, you should definitely check out their website and see the work they do.
