I’m not a big fan of drinking tons of coffee to keep going throughout the day, since you’re really just draining your adrenals when you do that and it leads to chronic dehydration and possibly vitamin deficiencies. But sometimes, you’re just too damn tired and have no time for a nap during a busy work week. What do you do if you can’t drink coffee? Well, tea is obviously one option, but it still contains caffeine, so you’re essentially still draining your adrenals, although not as much. So you’re pretty much s**t out of luck and doomed to walk around like a zombie for the rest of the day, right?
Sun Chlorella sent me a sample of their new Well Well Wow energy shot, which might just be the solution to this problem. The shots contain no caffeine but are full of chlorella growth factor (derived from the nuclei of algae) and eleuthero extract. According to their website, Chlorella “may encourage the growth and repair of cells and tissues in your body, and eleuthero, one of nature’s most powerful adaptogenic herbs that may help to decrease the effects of stress.”
I’ve reviewed eleuthero tea before on the site, and I’ve gotta tell you that I really believe in the power of the stuff. As far as chlorella goes, don’t just listen to me, hear what Dr. Greger thinks about chlorella here in this video. Here is some more info from the Sun Chlorella website:
Well Well Wow!™ is rich in dietary fiber and minerals to promote a healthy immune system. Well Well Wow!™ helps you achieve a renewed sense of peace and tranquility, and provides a refreshing way to:
Decrease the harmful effects of stress on your body
Increase your endurance levels
Support healthy adrenal gland function
I think the last claim is very interesting, since most of us are overly-caffeinated and have been draining our adrenal glands with too much work and not enough sleep. Well Well Wow and Sun Chlorella’s other products may actually help to reverse the damage we’ve all done.
The most important part though, is the taste. And it actually tastes pretty good. It’s a little sweet, but not too much (because it contains a little agave) but it’s mostly an herb-y flavor (if that makes sense). It just tastes like you’d imagine a healthy super-herb to taste, which ain’t bad. Give it a try for yourself and let me know what you think.
The kind folks at Sun Chlorella would like to give 3 readers a free sample of Well Well Wow! to try – so give yourself a chance to win by leaving a comment below!
